Who We Are

We improve the quality of life for family

Rescue the Family was founded in 2020 by Benjamin Nkana Bassi, a criminal defence and Family Barrister and Solicitor in Canada.

Throughout his practice as criminal defence and Family lawyer, Benjamin Nkana Bassi noticed that there is a direct link between broken families and criminality, that many people coming from broken families have emotional, psychological and mental distress.

Benjamin Nkana Bassi noticed that, the court approach in dealing with families is too rigid, focussed on “rights” rather than resolving the underlining issues destroying the relationships. The judicial approach is limited, focussed on determining the Law, not necessarily to resolve the problems of the family. Some of these problems are very simple.

Rescue the Family proposes a practical solution, multidisciplinary, involving the belief system of the people involved in the dispute, their cultural background, psychology, financial advisors, mediators and legal aspects.

The approach of Rescue the Family is aimed at providing a solution that is focussed in the reconstruction of the family by rediscovering some universal values such as forgiveness, humility, through mediation, conciliation, reconciliation and collaborative approach of the practice of law before going to court as the last resort.

Each donation is an essential help which improves everyone's life
